Copper River Seafoods Accepts National Association of State Workforce Agencies 2019 National Business of the Year Award

Anchorage, AK, September 13, 2019 – NASWA presented the 2019 National Business of the Year Award to founder and CEO Scott Blake of Copper River Seafoods for recognition with their efforts in workforce development and utilization of Job Center Programs. The award ceremony was held on September 11, 2019 in Boston, MA at the Boston Plaza Hotel Grand Ball Room, where Copper River Seafoods received the 2019 National Business of the Year Award trophy. The National Business of the Year award recognizes a small, medium, or large business that demonstrates outstanding accomplishments resulting in a positive impact on its workforce, industry and community. Additionally, a significant part of the recognition for this award is based on the business' support and use of the state public workforce system.

“I am humbled and honored to receive this award. Without workforce programs offered by the State of Alaska and many other states, along with the local support of Governor Dunleavy, state Labor Commissioner Ledbetter, and Deputy Labor Commissioner San Juan, and my Human Resources team, achieving a sustainable workforce year after year would have been very difficult for Copper River Seafoods.”
